Our Animation

For this session of maniakalani We had to make an animation. To make an animation we had to use sides and then do tiny adjustments to the next slide. The animation I have made has 37 slides and is about an alien getting dropped out of its space ship. Over all it was a real fun process and I will try and make an even cooler on enext time I do it!!!!!

Fixing Mean Comments

In this session of Maniakalani me and my buddy- Jorja - Made a Poster on how to take care of mean comments or other bad things.  At this same time, we learned this same thing- to have evidence, then to report, then deleting it, then blocking them. Me and Jorja all wish that you stay safe on the internet and Fix the bad comments before they get worse!!!!

Digital Netiquette With Shivarna

In this session of maniakalani, we were in buddies and I was with Shivarna. In this DLO(digital learning object) we had to learn about netiquette. Me and Shivarna made a list of the thing you would and wouldn't send to a teacher then underneath it, we wrote an example of what it would look like. I learned that netiquette can be informal or formal depending on the connection between two people. Overall working with Shivarna was super fun and now I know what netiquette means and will use it in further life.

Our Day With Matawai Students

Today students from Matawai school came and visited our class. First, we got to know the students by doing P.E in groups mixed with yr7 and yr8 girls and boys from both schools. We did that for half the block and then moved onto making paper planes.

Making the paper planes there were quite a few requirements. We had to have groups of three mixed with yr7 and yr8s. Also, we had to use 4 straws but we got 4 pieces of paper a bit of blue-tack and sellotape. We had to think about what our plane will look like and the design our plane. It was a competition on how far it can go. We were third, it didn't go that far but it didn't come last.

If I could make this again I would change a few things. I would put all the straws in the structure instead of decorating with one and take off the paper at the front. Overall I was very proud of my group and my plane and had fun working with another school. 

Weekly Timetable

This is our weekly timetable- our class does this every week to keep track of the work we have done throughout the week. What we do is each week we have four must do's to do over the week in our non-workshop or P.E time. We also have to choose our own goals to have finished.

The way we choose our must-dos is by using things called our management levels. There is TG(teacher guided) SM(self-managed) SD(self-directed) SA(self-agent). From those, we choose our must do's and our goals(this is my favorite/best timetable). At the end of the week, we then get reshuffled into different management levels from our behavior and the amount of work we do.

Be Cybersmart

During this session, we were writing to yr3's- from another school- in buddies. We were randomly picked and didn't find out who it was until they sent this slide to us. We were not allowed to see or talk to each other during this block. The only way we could communicate was through comments. We did all of this to help practice for buddying up with other kids up north.

CLASSROOM HUT( WE MADE IT)

 

I am very proud of our hut because of the way it is and the finishing, this too us less than a week but it is still finished with quality. While doing this I have learned many things such as how to nail things properly and we did heaps of measuring. The next step on this is  definitely to extend it and maybe have some more padding in it, but overall I would do it again and I am very proud of it!!!
